The shower facilities were pretty impressive. it delivered strong, warm water, feeling just right after a long day out. The cost-effective rates were definitely a pleasant surprise, making it easier on the wallet for a place that holds some character.
The layout was a bit odd, with an awkwardly small, cramped area for the shower, making it tricky to dry off without feeling like you were in a closet. The mattress left a lot to be desired—better suited for a Jedi in training than seasoned travelers. No real space to store personal items either. everything ended up piled on the floor or hanging precariously on a small table. Some rooms had privacy issues with glass doors that made you feel like you were in a fishbowl while taking care of business. And let’s not forget the noise from other rooms, added to the overall restlessness during the night.

Had a very nice stay in a Superior Double Room. The room was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed, including tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were very helpful when we asked to borrow some forks and knives for a meal in the room. It's located in a quiet street and only a short walk to the city center, making it an ideal place to explore Edinburgh.
The bathroom door didn't close properly.

The location made exploring so convenient. Everything felt within walking distance. My room was clean and had a kettle, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the walls were thin. noise traveled easily throughout the night, disrupting my sleep. The bathroom was small and could use better storage. I noticed some outdated decor too, which made the overall vibe feel less inviting than it should be. The check-in process was straightforward but felt impersonal due to limited staff visibility. If you're looking for a spot to crash for a night, this might fit the bill, but longer stays could get uncomfortable with noise and outdated features.

The location is convenient, within walking distance of beautiful cafes. the room was quite small, the heating was excessive, and the lack of responsiveness from staff was frustrating. Despite the cleanliness, the outdated decor and noise levels detracted from a fully enjoyable experience.

The location was perfect for our family getaway, close to transport links and only a short walk to downtown. We were able to enjoy the nearby cafes for meals. Our dog felt right at home. Clean sheets and a friendly check-in made it enjoyable.
My wife says that the bathroom could use more space and better storage.

I stayed one night recently. The room had a kettle for tea, which I enjoyed. The location allowed quick access to the city center with public transport nearby. One drawback was the lack of storage for my belongings. I felt cramped due to limited space for luggage. It served my purpose, as I was just looking for a place to rest. As a British travel writer, I appreciate the convenience of such stays when exploring.

great location but rooms need updates
The location of this hotel is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The check-in process was hassle-free, and the staff were accommodating when we asked for extra amenities. The nearby shops and bars provided plenty of options for dining and relaxation. the room was comfortable, with clean sheets and tea-making facilities, creating a cozy atmosphere for our stay.
The room could benefit from a fresh coat of paint.

Just a great match for a momentary visit in Edinburgh, and good for the money. The room was clean despite some shabby decor. If you can, ask for a room away from the street to avoid noise at night.
